Despite lower weights, the high load-bearing capacity of the Layher steel deck remains ̶ made possible by transverse and longitudinal reinforcements in deck and web sections. Improvements to the cross-section were achieved by locating material concentrations in structurally relevant areas. Transverse reinforcements, along with typical flared perforations in the surface, keep workers confident as they travel while longitudinal reinforcement provides optimum transmission of lashing forces during transport.

New lightweight decks integrate into existing Layher decks, allowing a seamless transition between decks. Upgrade your supply gradually to suit your budget and project needs without compromising the utility of existing stock. Flared surface perforations permit the use of the Layher locking screws for securing steel planks and cover plates into position.

ENHANCED HANDLING

As with the previous Layher deck, the steel cap has been redesigned for an improved and secure grip, making it compatible with the trusted T4 steel deck. in addition, the optimized underside of the longitudinal web ensures an ergonomic and steady grip, especially during vertical transport.

Thanks to uniform system dimensions and appropriate combination approvals, all our innovations are designed to be interchangeable with existing components of the Layher product portfolio – including our earlier product generations. THE RESULT: LAYHER LIGHTWEIGHT – THE NEXT DIMENSION IN SCAFFOLDING

Assembly, dismantling and transport make up 80 % of scaffolding service costs. Studies have clearly shown that by reducing component weight, our customers can considerably enhance both their assembly and dismantling performances and use their transport capacities more efficiently. This is where our new Layher Lightweight philosophy comes to the fore.

By using higherstrength steel grades, new production processes and design improvements, we have succeeded in minimising the weight of the basic components of our SpeedyScaf and Allround Scaffolding systems – without reducing their high load capacities.

Assembly speed can be increased up to 10%, transport capacity up to 12%. As part of our integrated system, the lightweight products can also be combined with our previous product versions. Combination approvals are of course available.
